They are the builders of the auric color spectrum, which means that they welcome growth. Green auras mark a grounded, hard-working person who is a nature lover. It’s helpful for yellow auras to live in the present without stressing about the future. Those with yellow auras are high energy and exude optimism. The minds can be overactive, which means they need to hone in their ideas in order to make them a reality. Their artistry brings peace to them, but only if they can focus on one thing at a time. If you have a pink aura, make sure your giving energy is reciprocated by those you care about.Ĭreativity is key for those who have an orange aura. Red auras can also indicate a moment of pivotal creative changes.Ī pink aura denotes someone who gives their heart freely to others without demanding much in return. Creative to the core, red auras are always manifesting new goals and inspiring themselves through artistic outlets. Passions run high with those who have a red aura, as they live by their desires and emotions. This aura's appearance may indicate that the person needs to let go of baggage that is inhibiting them from radiating positivity in their lives. Seeing a brown aura indicates you're in need of cleansing, or that you need to give more to others instead of taking.Ī black aura can show a dark energy, brought on by selfish and unkind behavior. Opening themselves up to new possibilities is hard and will take effort, but necessary and rewarding.Ī brown aura often indicates a time of selfishness and insecurity. Gray auras can denote a skeptical outlook, or a person prone to seeing the glass half empty. Those with white auras may have a tendency to take on the energy of others. This shows a well-balanced personality, calm and open to possibilities. Think you see something? Here's what the colors mean. Practice makes perfect! Once you have found and noted your aura, we can get started. Please note that it may take a few tries to actually see your aura. The glow you see radiating from the outside lining of your hands is your aura. The color you see surrounding your head and shoulders is your aura.Īnother way to find your aura is to stare at your hands for approximately one minute. Without moving your eyes, scan the outer perimeter of your head and shoulders. Concentrate on a focal point in the middle of your forehead. Look in the mirror for a minute in front of a white background. Let’s establish one thing: Anyone can read an aura. Want to see your own aura color? Begin with a mirror and a white background. Through seeing auras, you can gain clarity as to why some people give you icky vibes and why you feel positive around others. You’re already communicating telepathically with others through the auric field. I contend that by learning to read auras and understanding their colors and meanings, you can fine-tune your intuition. For believers, auras are a portal to a more mystical realm, and are evidence of a psychic nature that we cannot communicate or express. Once you can see auras, you may be able to understand yourself and others better. This is why we have to retrain the way we look at things to allow ourselves to see our own outer light. But there’s a caveat: The human eye cannot see auras without training. Thanks for this brilliant revelation (using eggplant instead of nuts as your creamy base) – it’s been very fun to play with and shame on the abundant plagiarists of this recipe. I also used veganaise as my fat instead of olive oil (queso isn’t a health food, I don’t eat this everyday) inspired by recently reading the awesome veganaise cookbook and holy wow so if anyone is also into veganaise, try that modification. I used chiles in adobo instead of rotel and it was divine. And cuts the recipe’s active work time way down.ģ. I used that method for this and it was spectacular. I wanted to contribute that when I make babaghanoush, I use a method I got from Mark Bittman, which is to put the whole Italian eggplant into the oven (rinse it, rub a little oil add a little salt, put it on foil right on the rack, 400 degrees for about an hour, no need to pop holes – the steam will pop the eggplant open but it won’t hurt the oven and it’s a good indication it’s done cooking) and then the skin and insides are so tender, there’s no cutting or peeling (or salting/weeping) involved. I can tell it’s yours because of your origin story for this idea, kind of like the end of the movie Working Girl where melanie griffith can prove her thought process b/c of the tabloids she was reading when she comes up with the Big IdeaĢ. it’s insane how many food blogs repost this recipe exactly but without crediting you (they don’t event tweak it or anything). I’m a little late on this recipe train but I was moved to comment b/c –ġ. The zinger I got at midnight whilst falling asleep: EGGPLANT! So, the thought was, “What else is creamy but neutral and would make a good base for cheese sauce?” I mean, not that I’m into counting calories, but cashews are very high in calories and fat and you can detect them in sauces unless you really build up the flavor from spices and otherwise. It’s good, and it’s the first way I learned to mock cheese texture and flavor without using dairy. I’ve tried vegan cheese based with cashews. Our plant-based version is not traditional, but is inspired by the creaminess and heat of chile con queso! Eggplant Vegan Queso You can learn more about the history and differences here. While queso fundido is typically made with soft white cheeses, chile con queso is usually made with more processed American cheeses. Though you may find chile con queso at some Mexican restaurants in the US, it’s much different than the authentic Mexican queso (called queso fundido) that likely inspired it. It’s believed to have originated in Texas in the early 1900s ( source). Stir continuously with a metal whisk to keep it from scorching on the bottom of the pan. Heat over medium-low heat for 5 minutes, or until it's warm and has reached the desired consistency. Queso, also called chile con queso, is a melty, cheesy dip that’s typically served alongside tortilla chips. Transfer the mixture to a small skillet or a sauce pan. If there are strong winds or a storm is under way or on its way, the tides will change more rapidly than your chart will indicate. and so on until you reach 24:00, which is midnight. If your chart is operating on military time, 13:00 is equivalent to 1 p.m., 14:00 is equivalent to 2 p.m. Or it could use military time, which utilizes a 24-hour clock rather than a day split in two by two groups of 12. Your chart may list an “a” next to the time for “a.m.” or “p” for “p.m. Locate the timeĮach high and low tide will correspond to a specific time. In these cases, you won’t see a negative sign before the number, but you will see it is a low number like 1.4 feet as opposed to high tide that may be at 7.2 feet at its peak. But there are times when low tide is still above the chart datum. When the low tide falls below the chart datum, you often will see the low tide height preceded by a negative sign like -1.3 feet. Likewise, the height of a low tide is based on how far it falls below or close to the chart datum. If you downloaded your chart from the Olympic National Park website, you can find chart datum because it is the horizontal line that is labeled “0.” The height of a high tide is based on how how many feet above the chart datum the tide will be at its highest point. Chart datum is the average low water mark. To read a tide chart, you should know what chart datum is. Make sure you have the right chart for your visit to the park. This means that each day the tides will roll in and out at different times and at different heights. Tides change based on where the moon is in relation to the Earth. Never use a tide chart from a different year or week than you plan on visiting Olympic National Park. Verify your chart is for the correct week and yearĪt the top of your chart, you will see the date and year that the chart is covering. Instead, start to look for specific things. When you pick up your tide chart, you’ll notice there are a lot of numbers on it. You also can see when the full moon is (the white colored moon) and the new moon (black-colored moon). First, you can see how high and low the tides will be, as well as at what time they will rise and fall. On a tide chart, you can learn several critical things. Tide warnings on the general overview map of Olympic National Park (Photo: National Park Service) ‘Caution’ usually suggests a low tide height below which it may be safe to round headlands.” On the general overview map of the national park, an X means impassable headland ALWAYS use overland trail and a red circle means to wait for low tide or use overland trail if available. One source for topographic maps is Discover Your Northwest at According to the Olympic National Park website, words on maps like ” ‘danger’ usually means that a headland cannot be rounded at any time by walking on the beach. For advance planning, you can download a tide chart for La Push from the National Park Service website ( but note that conditions can change.Ī topographic map will let you know what headlands become impassable at high tide, which ones should not be passed regardless of the tides and what areas to use caution when exploring the beaches of Olympic. Stop by any Olympic National Park visitor center or coastal ranger station to get both a topographic map and tide chart. And don’t assume tides will be the same every day because they are different. Don’t ever assume there will be two low tides in one day. Pick Up a Topographical Map and Tide ChartĪt Olympic, sometimes there is only one low tide on a day, so it is extremely important that you understand how to read a tide chart and have a topographic map with you, as well. People have died in the park because of the tides. If you are unaware of when the tides are coming up or down, you could get trapped in between steep cliffs and the water, leaving you no escape. What you may not realize is that high tide can make some of these headlands impassable, such as at Point of Arches on Shi Shi Beach or Hole in the Wall on Rialto Beach. At low tide, you can walk down Olympic’s beaches, safely rounding some of its headlands and exploring tidal pools. Without these, you run the risk of literally walking into a dangerous situation that could be life threatening.īlame it on the tides. Going to the Pacific coast bordering Olympic National Park’s western side requires two important things: a topographic map and a tide chart. These included, e.g., "Fertile" (occasionally lay eggs that can be hatched), "Alpha" (attacked the player if other creatures were killed by the player in the immediate vicinity), "Complex" (specimens take longer to scan), "Greater" (specimens are of larger size and weight). Fauna were once intended to possess inherent attributes, that would have caused them to exhibit unique behaviors.Scientifically speaking, the fauna of planet 4546B might have high concentrations of vanabin in their blood. This is due to the ESRB giving Subnautica a higher rating than expected due to red blood. Before this update, all fauna had red blood. As of the Dangerous Creatures update, all fauna have yellow blood. The Sea Dragon Leviathan may share this method of reproduction as it is likely the closest living relative of the Sea Emperor Leviathan and was being studied by The Architects to learn more about the Sea Emperor's hatching process, which was apparently successful.įauna of The Crater Carnivores Fauna The only one of the complex fauna species on the planet known to be an exception to this rule is the Sea Emperor Leviathan species, which is entirely asexual and does not require a mate. The only species that does not reproduce is the Warper, as they are artificial constructs. At least one fauna species is exempt from this and reproduces entirely asexually, although the norm for the planet is sexual reproduction, as can be observed in all species that can be placed in an Alien Containment unit who will require two individuals of their species to produce eggs. Two parents are still required to fertilize the eggs once laid, making it sexual reproduction. Most known fauna species on Planet 4546B are simultaneous hermaphrodites, meaning that they have a single-sex capable of playing the role of either the male or female in reproduction and every individual being able to lay eggs and fertilize them. As Kharaa has been eliminated from the wild in Below Zero this function is not present. In Subnautica additional scans after unlocking the Data Bank Entry for that particular species of Fauna alert the player as to whether or not the specimen is infected with Kharaa. The player can scan Fauna with the Handheld Scanner, the same as they would with Flora and objects, allowing them to view information about creatures in their PDA. The fact that the appearance of some species of the planet being similar to that of planet Earth species can be explained as a simple case of convergent evolution. Certain species of small fauna can sometimes be seen forming mostly non-interactive shoals. Fauna on Planet 4546B is capable of enduring and adapting to various environments, although previously unable to thrive due to the presence of the Kharaa Bacterium. Ranging from the tiny, cave-dwelling Rockgrub, to the colossal Sea Dragon Leviathan that spews molten minerals from its mouth. Players new to the game would want to avoid or be cautious toward this article.įauna is the term for animals, in this case, the animals of Planet 4546B. From then on, it was Black Video and cross dissolves for me □ If you’re going to a codec that doesn’t support alpha–let’s say an H.264 MP4–it’s not really a concern that I’m aware of, but old habits die hard now.īlack video below all tracks (Video 1) is a good option, too, particularly if you’re going to and coming back from black frequently within a sequence. Lo and behold, the exported file faded in from GRAY, which was how the player app interpreted the alpha at the beginning and end of the sequence. Again, I think it’s pretty rare that anyone would stumble into these issues–and the only reason I point it out is because it’s actually happened to me! I was exporting to a QuickTime file (can’t recall the codec right now) and had alpha enabled without even thinking about it. That said, perhaps a preference setting or a sequence setting that would make the base layer opaque color, would make a good feature request. But this is not how I’ve seen people work – they just apply Dip to Black, and then wonder why it doesn’t work as it should. And I agree that you can adjust Dip to Black end or start point, which would be the equivalent, even more “kosher” than cross-fade from alpha. Of course I agree that the “most proper” way to do it would be to use black video either above, or even easier – as a base layer underneath all clips. Perhaps it was a wrong assumption, and I should have covered that as well. I was considering mentioning that in the article, since I’m obviously familiar with the way cross-fade works, but then I thought to myself that if you ARE fading from black or to black, you are operating on the whole picture, and would most likely not want to export to a codec with alpha, and considered to be a little bit over the top. I certainly don’t do this… but you canįunny you should raise the alpha issue. All you have to do is set the Start point to 50 for a fade in, and the End point to 50 for a fade out. Since it’s usually common practice to have a black leader at the beginning or tail at the end of a sequence, you can accomplish this easily with one clip.Īnd technically, you CAN create a fade to/from black using Dip to Black. Simply create the synthetic, add a short piece at the beginning or end of your sequence, and apply a single-sided cross dissolve at the appropriate place on the black video. What I advocate is using a Black Video synthetic clip to create a fade in or fade out. Most of the time, it’s not an issue, but I’ve seen it before… As described above, you can probably see why this would be the case. While in most cases you can achieve the result you want–a fade to or from black–using a cross dissolve as you’ve outlined, this can cause problems when you export to a format/codec that supports alpha/transparency. A Premiere Pro sequence is 100% alpha when the frame dimensions are not completely filled with 100% opaque clips you can see this by changing the Display Mode to Alpha and placing a clip that has smaller dimensions than the sequence into the sequence. If you use a cross dissolve on a base video layer to fade in or out to black, you’re actually dissolving to or from transparency. Strictly speaking, a Fade To/From Black is exactly that: a fade TO or FROM black. However, I don’t agree with you on using a cross dissolve as a single-side transition to achieve a fade in or fade out. I understand your point on transitions, particularly Dips and Fades.
